Our Supportive Community

Office of Student Engagement and Enrichment Culture

A strong sense of community and belonging is foundational to a high-quality medical education. Our office works to cultivate an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. We host community-building events that foster meaningful connections among peers, faculty and staff. We also create opportunities for students to engage with and serve local communities, encouraging active participation and growth beyond the classroom.

In addition, we help students develop meaningful relationships by connecting them with physicians, alumni, and community leaders. Through mentorship programs and professional development opportunities, students receive guidance and gain confidence as they navigate medical school. Our office also empowers students to bring their own ideas to life, such as creating new programs, planning events or leading initiatives that enrich the Pitt Med experience.

The Office of Student Engagement and Enrichment curates activities that acknowledge and celebrate the distinctive contributions our students bring to Pitt Med and the Pittsburgh community. We believe engagement matters. It enhances student satisfaction and success, while ensuring that students make the most of their learning opportunities and reach their full academic and career potential.
